SUPERB 1914 Olympic Games poster
This poster was published in 1914 as a tribute to the 20th year of the reinstatement of the Olympic Games, which was initiated and reestablished by Pierre de Coubertin in 1894.
In 1914, the Olympic Congress was held in Paris for the third time, returning to the Sorbonne to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Olympic Movement.
It was a particularly festive Congress with sporting demonstrations, plays, musical performances and receptions. Furthermore, the design of the Olympic rings, created for the occasion, was revealed. But Paris 1914 was also a turning point for the Olympic Congress because, for the first time, the CNO were represented while the IFs waited impatiently at the door.
