RARE AND HISTORICAL POSTER OF RHENANIA GP IN 1947
Unusual post-war Grand Prix story!!
The Grand price de l'Eiffel, renamed the Grand Prix de Rhenanie, to be held on July 24, 1947, was canceled
Organized by the ACA in partnership with the ACIF and the AGACI, the race was originally intended to be a showcase of French know-how. The suffering accumulated during the long years of conflict has given way to a feeling of total contempt towards the former occupant. The poster of the meeting with a blue, white and red flag flying proudly on the Nurburgring circuit is not anecdotal when we remember the pre-war images with a Führer using the silver arrows on this same circuit to spread its propaganda.
The feelings of hatred and revenge run deep. We must now exhibit French superiority and taunt, not to say trample, the vanquished.
Unfortunately, since the start of the season, the blue cars have been dominated by the Italians in international competitions.
Seeing the little chance of a blue victory, Hettier de Boislambert, Governor of the Rheno-Palatine Provinces in Koblenz, belatedly decided to cancel the Rhenish Grand Prix.
The war is over. After the ephemeral euphoria of a newfound freedom, life resumes its course.
