Foire de Bordeaux – 15 au 30 juin is a vintage French poster created by René Lataste, generally referenced around 1923, for the Bordeaux Fair. Printed in Bordeaux by Delteil fils frères,

it belongs to the world of large interwar event posters, a period when commercial fairs promoted the economic dynamism of port cities and their links with international trade.

The composition presents a lively harbour scene, dominated by warm and luminous colours. In the foreground, several figures from different backgrounds evoke maritime and commercial exchanges, while ships, quays and the skyline of Bordeaux appear in the distance. The image emphasises the activity of the port, the movement of goods, travel and the city’s openness to the world.

The poster also belongs to the colonial imagery of its time, with an exoticised representation of people and products from elsewhere. This visual language, which should now be understood within its historical context, was frequently used at the time to attract the public and give major commercial events a spectacular and international dimension.
