Fédération Française des Sports de Glace is an original French sports poster created in 1942 by R. Videcoq for the French Ice Sports Federation. Designed by Atelier Max Ponty and printed in Paris by Imp. Bedos & Cie, the poster is a striking example of wartime French graphic design applied to sport advertising. It is recorded by specialist poster galleries as a 1942 work by Videcoq, with the Atelier Max Ponty and Bedos & Cie Paris credits.
The composition uses large monumental letters, icy blue tones, and bold red typography to create a powerful modern image. Within the stylised letters appear silhouettes representing several ice disciplines: figure skating, speed skating, ice hockey, bobsleigh or sledding, and curling. The design conveys movement, discipline, and winter elegance while keeping a strong decorative impact.
With its geometric construction, limited colour palette, and dynamic sporting silhouettes, the poster reflects the influence of modernist poster design of the 1930s and 1940s. Today it is an attractive piece for collectors of vintage sports posters, winter sports imagery, French graphic design, and historical Olympic or federation-related advertising.
