The Fargo Motor Car Company was founded in Chicago in 1913. The company was bought in 1922 by Dodge, which continued to manufacture Fargo trucks but marketed them under its own brand1.
On June 6, 1925, a new manufacturer was born in the United States, Chrysler. In 1928, Chrysler created the Plymouth brands to market its entry-level models and DeSoto for the mid-range and bought the Dodge Brothers company, which owned the Dodge brand, on July 31, 1928. Chrysler management then revived the Fargo brand to market Dodge trucks in certain export markets.
The Fargo brand was particularly present in Canada, where many models were produced and marketed there, as well as in Australia, India and Turkey. However, the brand was completely abandoned on the US market in 1930.
The Fargo brand disappeared from the grilles of Chrysler trucks at the end of 1972. Wikipedia
