The 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris officially established the Art Deco style. Bringing together artists, architects, and industry, it defined a new vision of modernity, luxury, and progress that shaped 20th-century design.

Charles Loupot and the 1925 Poster

Charles Loupot is considered one of the greatest French poster artists of the 20th century. Trained in Switzerland and influenced by Cubism and Purism, he developed a radically modern style based on:

  • extreme simplification of form

  • bold use of flat areas of color

  • an architectural approach to image construction

With this poster, Loupot created a pivotal work at the crossroads of art, industry, and visual communication. It signals the emergence of a new era in advertising, where the image becomes conceptual, synthetic, and strikingly modern.
