Coupe mondiale d’acrobatie aérienne – Vincennes, 1934
Vic
Lithograph in colours, printed by Le Petit Parisien
Dimensions: 159 × 120.5 cm
Striking Art Deco aviation poster announcing the Coupe mondiale d’acrobatie aérienne, held at Vincennes on 9–10 June 1934. The dynamic composition shows a red aerobatic aircraft performing a daring manoeuvre, its smoke trail forming a dramatic question mark against the sky, while a globe and national flags emphasise the international scope of the event.
Organised by Air-Propagande with the support of Le Petit Parisien, this competition is regarded as one of the earliest major international aerobatic contests. The event was won by the German pilot Gerhard Fieseler, ahead of the French aviator Michel Détroyat.
A rare and highly sought-after large-format poster, emblematic of French aviation graphics of the 1930s and the golden age of interwar air meetings.
