The interest of the subject of this biscuit is linked to the passion of Napoleon III for the Velocipede and its industry, to the point of initiating the young Imperial Prince very early on to the discovery of this new means of locomotion. We know that Napoleon III was the instigator among the various European courts of the initiation to the bicycle, by regularly offering sumptuous Velocipedes as gifts to the aristocrats and nobles of Europe. He thus contributed to the development of this new industry.
