Exhibition model for the Trident world records: speed of ascent in altitude... and others cf wiki...

Six Trident II aircraft were ordered in June 1956. The first three aircraft were delivered from May 1957 to January 1958.

The prototype 06 took to the air for the first time on 3 January 1958. A few days later, prototype 05 set the world altitude record at 22,800 m.

Then on 19 April it was the turn of prototype 04 to beat the world record for the highest climb to 18,000 m in 3 minutes 17 seconds after the brakes were released. On the same day, prototype 05 rolled over at Mach 1.81.

On 2 May 1958, a world altitude record was set by Roger Carpentier on 06 with 24,217m.

Despite the success achieved, the programme was interrupted on 6 October 1958 for budgetary reasons.

On this last day, Jean-Pierre Rozier had the aircraft climb to an altitude of 28,000 m, a record that had not been approved. Given the cost of the aircraft and its specialisation as an interceptor, the series was not continued.
