Fernand Leger (February 4, 1881, Argetan - August 17, 1955,
Gif-sur-Yvette) is a French painter.
Known as ''pioneer of the cubism'', ''peasant of the avant-garde'' or
''cubist'', it was one of the first to show publicly work of orientation
cubist, even if it were not itself a painter cubist - it had found its
own style. Its first painting go back to 1905 and are of impressionist
inspiration. A museum is devoted to him to Biot in the
Alpes-Maritimes.
