History ...
Here is the accident report, flight TWA 903 to Bombay, India and New York was made by Star Constellation TWA of Maryland.
Departure from Bombay was at 08:34, August 30 with an arrival in Cairo at 22:17.

A complete crew change was made in Cairo, and the plane was full of fuel.
The weather on the route was good and the crew took off from Cairo at 23:35, with plans for a cruise at an altitude of 14,500 feet.

A routine position report was received of an engine leak by the Cairo control tower at 23:55, out of Cairo 2335 25 miles out of Cairo at 23.43 estimated time of arrival Rome 05.30

This message was acknowledged but the flight did not respond. At that moment, the aircraft was climbing to an altitude of about 10,000 feet, the aircraft suffered a mechanical failure on the third engine with a major fire breaking out, forcing the crew to return to Cairo. The failed engine caused the aircraft to freefall.
A landing is forced into the desert and becomes necessary.

Unfortunately the plane crashed in the night, while attempting an emergency landing.
The probable cause n an uncontrolled fire that precipitated this forced landing and a carsh in the desert.
