Peter Falk was Director of the racing department at Porsche and one of the architects of the German manufacturer's 7 victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Herbert Linge, born on June 11, 1928 in Weissach, he lives near Stuttgart, is a German racing driver who competes mainly on circuits for sports cars of the Grand Touring type.

PORSCHE 908/2 Spyder - Chassis Sebring (Chassis No. 908-022) from 1970

For the racing scenes, the production entered the 1970 24 Hours with a Porsche 908/02 (N°29) equipped, for the first time in history, with an on-board camera. Entered by Solar Productions and driven by Jonathan Williams and Herbert Linge, it will not be classified due to insufficient distance covered.

It was also present at the preliminary tests of April 11 and 12, 1970 under No. 48.

Chassis No. 908-022 when it was No. 29

N° 29 - Engaged by Solar Productions, this 908 will be equipped with three cameras intended to store images for the film Le Mans. In April at the tests, it is white with already the bosses of the cameras at the front and at the rear and will be repainted in midnight blue with white stripes and red stripes for the race. L

And with N°48 in Nicolas Jeannier's ARTHOMOBILES gallery - 908-022 was entered by Porsche in the 69 Daytona 24 Hours before being sold to Solar Productions, Steve McQueen's company. He was entered first in the 12 Hours of Sebring, finishing second overall in tandem with Peter Revson. The body was then adapted to accommodate three cameras to shoot sequences for the film Le Mans, during the 24 Hours. The car finished 61 laps behind the winning 917, a good performance considering the excess weight, poor aerodynamics and extra pit stops for film changes.

And to finish if you wonder who is August DEUTSCH whose name appears with the Austrian colors under the name of Steve Mc QUEEN
