Adapted for the cinema by Cesare Zavattini from Luigi Bartolini's novel with Lamberto Maggiorani as the desperate father and Enzo Staiola as his brave young son, The Bicycle Thief is considered one of the masterpieces of Italian neorealism, but also one of the best films of all time.
