In the city of Turin in 1905, the young engineer Giulio Cesare Cappa, just graduated, had created a small workshop for the repair and construction of internal combustion engines. This activity allowed him to meet Giulio Pallavicino who, the year before, had created an exclusive sales agency for cars made by the English manufacturer Napier & Son. After being attracted by the very interesting projects of this young engineer, Pallavicino proposed to finance the study and the construction of a new engine, which will be realized in record time and mounted on a chassis Cornilleau and Saint-Beuve of Paris . The new car was presented at the Turin Motor Show in February 1906 and received flattering opinions from specialists in the profession because of the many avant-garde technical innovations concerning the monoblock engine, the cover of the mechanisms distribution, the use of ball bearings instead of bronze bearings and, above all, the start command with the clutch pedal inside the passenger compartment, instead of the crank. In view of the success, Pallavicino proposes to the engineer Cappa to transform his repair workshop into a real factory for the production of automobiles, and thus found the Società Anonima Aquila, very quickly renamed Società Anonima Aquila Italiana, then Fabbrica Italiana di Automobili G .Pallavicino di Priola e ing. G.Cappa, because of the recourse exercised by the German manufacturer Adler which means eagle in German (aquila in Italian) and who feared a confusion on the international markets, considering the quality of the manufactures of its Italian competitor. Thanks to the reputation acquired with its first prototype and its relations, Pallavicino could easily obtain all the necessary financing from the Italian bank Banca F.lli Marsaglia for the purchase of land and the construction of the plant and its tools. Pallavicino's program included the construction of 300 cars a year and a range of products based on four engines. This program was very ambitious and required high capital contributions. Moreover, the serious financial and stock market crisis of the beginning of the year 1907 had a big impact on the sector. The night of August 31, 1907, Pallavicino went to Milan aboard his car, to meet new investors, interested to enter the capital of the company. He will unfortunately be the victim of a fatal accident on a level crossing where the car will be caught by a train.
